A Rainforest Awakening & Tortuguero Canals Expedition

Immerse yourself in a living Eden, where emerald treetops sway above and the wild rhythms of Costa Rica pulse below. This 2½-hour (on-site) adventure begins with an enchanting aerial tram ride through the rainforest canopy. As the tram glides silently above the forest floor, you’ll breathe in crisp, earthy air laced with the scent of orchids and listen to the distant call of howler monkeys echoing through the treetops.

On winding trails veiled in mist, your naturalist guide will lead you past ancient trees festooned with moss and bromeliads in bloom, until the thunderous roar of a waterfall pulls you toward a breathtaking cascade that crashes into crystal pools below.

Then, step into a world of wonder among live, interactive exhibits:

In the indoor nocturnal frog habitat—the largest on Earth—discover tiny amphibians blinking in the dim glow of their recreated twilight world.
Walk through a butterfly sanctuary where the flutter of blue Morpho wings brushes your skin like whispers of wind.
Inside the reptile vivarium, glistening scales and inquisitive eyes peer at you from lush, terrarium hideaways.

At the working INBio research station, peer over scientists’ shoulders and maybe—just maybe—witness the discovery of a never-before-seen species.
And then, your experience flows from rainforest to river as you set off on a tranquil Tortuguero Canals boat tour. The boat drifts between dense, emerald banks alive with movement: spider monkeys leap like gymnasts above, iguanas sunbathe on low branches, and the glint of a caiman’s eye catches the light just beyond the lily pads. Your guide will spot orchids clinging to tree trunks, turtles nestled along the banks, and maybe even a lounging sloth swaying gently in the breeze.
